F v. R

I believe that Frankenstein confirmed Rousseau's "state of nature" theory. He does it by creating this creature that is completely peaceful and turning him into a psychopath killer. This does not prove the point directly, but the fact that the creature only becomes violent once provoked and beaten by people who look at him as a hideous monster only because of his external appearance. Had Frankenstein looked like a "normal" human being, he would have never been picked out as "inhuman" and not been beaten. Consequently, he would have never turned violent. That is what Rousseau was saying. One is not born inherently evil, it must be taught. You can not learn something without at least having seen it once.
