My Creative Assignment

my assignment was to create something for the purpose of destroying it, then Reread Frankenstein volume III, chapter III (Oxford edition page 138-140) and report back about it. well, here goes.

for my assignment, instead of just doing somthing like a drawing or painting, i decided to do something that i would personally be more attached to. ive been learning how to use various programs for audio production, so i decided to incorperate that into it, for fun. what i decided to do was write and record a song, guitar and bass, maybe lyrics.

when it came down to it, i had the lyrics, but they wernt fitting how i wanted them to so i scraped them. the guitar parts took me the better part of a week to get exactly how i wanted them. the bass was pretty simple (im no bass player, so it was just following the guitar chords) so that took almost no time. once that was done i took each track and worked on each part, verse chorus verse, and added the FX etc that i wanted to make it sound pretty cool. it came out as kind of an alternative rock, punky, Replacements, kind of a thing; needless to say i liked it quite a bit. once it was finished i burned it onto a CD and erased it off of my computer, no trace of it left. then i took the CD outside and looked at it for a while (i even wrote on it and named it) then i took my hammer and smahed the hell out of it.

the reading didnt exactly relate to my creation, because i enjoyed it, and would gladly make another like it, but i can see his points. had my CD come to life and started killing people (or if it kept cauing peoples ears to bleed) then i would reconsider making another, but as it was, ill hopefully make many more like it.
