Los Altos
Hi, my name is Rene Tanaka.
And I am from Los Altos, which is about 10 minutes from San Jose. There are several things i strongly dislike about my hometown, but i shall limit it to just one. It is extremely expensive to live in my area. This requires the families that are able to live in Los Altos to have a shit load of money. My family moved to Los Altos several years ago, when the standard of living was no where near what it is today. But if we wanted to move into the house my parents own right now, we would definitely not be able to. Thats just a little background on the situation, but the big thing i hate is that my Los Altosians tend to spoil their children. They will build new houses every year, buy them brand new cars (even if their son/daughter just totaled the last new car they got), and they will just spend an excessive amount of money on them. It is not that i am jealous of their worthless material items that they obtain each year. It's just that as someone who wants to enter education as a profession, these parents are not teaching their children good values and ultimately setting them up for a rude awakening when they enter the "real" world. Yes, you could argue that some of them may never enter the real world because of all the money, but most of them will. And when they do, they will have to learn that sometimes they cannot and will not get everything they want and desire.
Yeah, so thats my rant. I'll get off my soap box now. There is more, but don't get me started...
